Betsy Salomon, CPA
I grew up in Sacramento, but have lived most of my adult life in the Midwest and Southern
California. My family moved to Davis in 2007, and it’s good to be back.
I studied foreign languages in college, but became interested in accounting a few years
after graduation. After returning to school to earn a business degree, I began my accounting
career in a national firm. I spent four years as a tax specialist, nine years as a banker and
currency trader, then had twins and spent several years “at home” with them. During that time,
I volunteered in the community and at my children’s schools. I have been treasurer of the
Korematsu and Harper Parent-Teacher Organizations, and several other groups, with budgets ranging
from several hundred dollars to nearly half a million. I was also a Girl Scout leader. When I
have free time, I knit, and I have won thirteen ribbons in fairs in Michigan and California.
